Bluepeak brings ultra-fast fiber internet to overlooked cities in the central U.S.

Bluepeak started its internet service to customers in June 2022 after parent company GI Partners bought the networks previously known as Vast Broadband. Bluepeak offers fiber internet, cable internet, TV service, and business phone services. The company is committed to building new fiber infrastructure to improve internet speed and reliability. Bluepeak currently serves customers in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Wyoming, with a planned expansion into Texas [1]. Ookla Speedtest ranked Bluepeak #1 in 2023 for providing the fastest upload and download speeds in a number of cities in its service area [2]. The company’s mission is to offer more broadband choice in overlooked cities. “We don’t believe that the size of the city should determine the size and quality of internet connections,” CEO Jeff Seidenfaden said in an interview with The Divide podcast [3]. Many of the communities Bluepeak serves were previously limited to DSL internet or aging copper cable without upgrades. So, if you are in their service area, you may see a significant improvement in your internet performance by switching to Bluepeak.

Pricing

4.0

Transparent pricing and super-fast fiber internet

Bluepeak uses best practices in pricing including no data caps. That means you won’t get internet throttling or find overage fees popping up on your monthly bills. You also won’t be bound to a required annual contract, so you’ll never face an early termination fee. Prices are very competitive with fiber internet starting at 1 Gig for $55/month. Cable internet packages start at $40, which is good pricing for a 200 Mbps plan. Bluepeak is also committed to digital access for all. Even though the Affordable Connectivity Program is ending, the company has stated its intent to work with low-income customers and find ways to keep them connected [4].

Reliability and Performance

4.0

Bluepeak Fiber brings superior reliability and gigabit speeds

If Bluepeak Fiber is available in your area, you will get the best possible internet connection. Fiber-optic lines are more reliable than any other internet technology. Bluepeak’s first-tier fiber internet package starts at 1 Gig, and in select areas, you can even get speeds up to 5 Gigs. Bluepeak Fiber will also give support symmetrical upload and download speeds, which will come in very handy in households that upload video or large files. Remote workers will find fiber a terrific choice that supports all heavy-data work activities. Fiber internet also has the lowest latency of any internet type, which helps your real-time gaming and videoconferencing. If you are in an area where Bluepeak still offers cable internet rather than fiber, it will still be a strong option. Bluepeak’s cable is hybrid fiber-coaxial, or HFC. That means that it’s updated, fast cable that can get up to 1 Gig in download speeds and usually about 30 Mbps at top upload speeds. So, if your other option in your area is DSL, Bluepeak’s HFC cable internet option will give you much better connectivity and speed.
