Are you happy with your Internet service?

Game 1 of the World Series is Friday, Oct. 23… but have you cut the cord and now worry you’ll miss the Fall Classic?
You can watch the World Series without cable. Every game airs on FOX and streams on FOX One, starting Friday, Oct. 23 [1]. A digital antenna or a live TV streaming service also works. The catch is that live streams still need a steady connection, so your internet matters almost as much as the service you pick.

What Channel Is the World Series on in 2026?
FOX and FOX Deportes carry every game, making 2026 FOX’s 29th World Series. ESPN Radio covers every postseason game for audio-only fans. Here is the tentative schedule, which is subject to change [2]:
The Brewers swept the Dodgers 4-0 in the NLCS. They will face the winner of the Guardians-Rays ALCS, where Cleveland led 2-1 as of Oct. 15 [3]. First-pitch times were not announced as of Oct. 16, so check FOX’s listings once the ALCS ends.
Streaming is now a completely normal way to see the Fall Classic. FOX launched FOX One in August 2025 [4], and last year’s Game 7 averaged 27.33 million viewers across FOX, FOX Deportes, and FOX’s streaming platforms [5].
There are four main ways to watch World Series games without cable. Here is how they compare:
| Option | Cost | Best for |
| FOX One | $19.99/month, 3-day free trial [6] | Fans who want to stream World Series games and little else |
| Live TV streaming (Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, DIRECTV) | Varies by service | Households that want local channels and other sports |
| Digital antenna | One-time hardware cost | Budget viewers near a local FOX station |
| ESPN Radio | Free over the air | Audio-only fans on the go |
FOX One is the simplest path for World Series streaming. FOX One World Series access costs $19.99 a month and includes both FOX and FOX Deportes, and a FOX One + ESPN bundle runs $39.99. The series could span nine days (Oct. 23–31), so the 3-day trial covers only the opening games. One paid month covers everything, and you can cancel afterward. You can also add it as a Prime Video Channel at the same price.
Live TV services carry the postseason too, and an antenna picks up local FOX games for free [7]. Confirm that your local FOX station is included before you subscribe.
MLB.TV is not a shortcut. Its subscribers can watch FOX postseason games only by logging in through a participating pay TV provider, which defeats the purpose.

What Internet Speed Do You Need for Live Sports Streaming?
Plan on at least 8 Mbps for one HD stream, and more if others share your connection. Mbps (megabits per second) measures how much data your connection moves each second. Think of it as highway lanes where one game needs a single lane, but a household that streams, games, and video-calls at once needs several. YouTube TV recommends 7 Mbps and Hulu + Live TV recommends 8 Mbps for one HD stream [8].
The right internet speed for live sports streaming rises with every device on your network. The FCC set its current broadband benchmark at 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload on March 14, 2024, up from 25/3 in 2015 [9]. Use that as a target for a busy home. Speed is only half the story. Latency is the delay between the live action and your screen. Streams generally run 15 to 60 seconds behind a broadcast, according to a 2020 Fortune report [10]. Providers have worked to narrow that gap since, but expect some lag. A friend’s text or a phone alert can spoil a big play before you see it.
Before first pitch:

Which Internet Providers Are Best for Streaming the World Series?
The best internet providers for streaming offer steady speeds and enough upload capacity for your household, and that depends on your address. Fiber internet typically delivers the most consistent results, while cable and fixed wireless can work well where fiber is unavailable.
Internet prices vary widely. The average U.S. home internet plan cost $81.16 per month, ranging from $65.43 in New Jersey to $109.88 in Alaska, according to a BroadbandNow survey fielded in March 2026 [11]. The same survey found that 19% of households say their plan doesn’t meet their needs. If that sounds familiar, our tips to save money on your internet bill can help.

Because providers differ by location, an internet comparison by zip code beats a national ranking. You can compare internet providers side by side to find the best internet in your area.

Yes. A digital antenna picks up your local FOX station without a subscription, and ESPN Radio offers free audio. FOX One also has a 3-day free trial, though it won’t cover the whole series.
Yes. Every game airs on FOX and streams with FOX One, and Spanish-language coverage is on FOX Deportes. FOX One costs $19.99 per month after the free trial.
Streaming services encode video, send it in small segments, and buffer it, which adds delay. A faster, wired connection prevents buffering but cannot remove that built-in lag.
Only with a pay TV login. MLB.TV subscribers can watch FOX postseason games only by authenticating through a participating provider, so it doesn’t solve the cable problem.
