Are you happy with your Internet service?

About the author
AT&T Fiber costs roughly anywhere $50 to $110 a month before taxes and fees, and AT&T’s plan page lists no 12-month promotional period [1]. That makes the AT&T Fiber monthly cost steadier than most cable bills, but your statement will still run higher than the sticker price.
Here’s what you can expect to actually pay, how it compares to cable, and how to compare internet providers at your address.

As of October 2026, AT&T lists four plans from $50 to $110 a month, plus taxes and fees. AT&T lists no introductory rate and no scheduled increase, so there is no “built-in” AT&T Fiber price after the promo to brace for. The caveat, though, is that AT&T doesn’t publish a price-lock term on that page, and its fee schedule says pricing and fees can change without notice [2]. You’ll want to treat the price as stable, not guaranteed.
Pricing transparency has improved, though. Since April 10, 2024, the FCC has required most providers to show a standardized “broadband label" at the point of sale listing monthly price, introductory rates, and fees [3]. It targets a real problem. Consumer Reports’ analysis of 18,359 bills found a median pre-discount price of $74.99 a month, and some companies charged different prices for the same plan [4]. Cable has hanged too. Xfinity has largely replaced 12-month promos with a five-year price guarantee [5], while Spectrum still jumps $20 to $35 a month after year one [6].

What Does Each AT&T Fiber Plan Cost?
Every AT&T Fiber cost below includes the autopay discount and excludes taxes and fees (prices as of October 2026, so double check for yourself):
| Plan | Speed | With autopay | Without autopay |
| Internet 300 | 300 Mbps | $50 | $60 |
| Internet 500 | 500 Mbps | $60 | $70 |
| Internet 1000 | Up to 1 Gig | $70 | $80 |
| Internet 5000 | Up to 5 Gig | $110 | $120 |
The 300 plan suits a household of one to three people streaming and working online. The 1 Gig plan fits busy homes with many devices, remote workers, and cloud gaming. The 5 Gig tier mainly benefits creators moving very large files.
The AT&T Fiber autopay discount is $10 a month, and it requires both Autopay and Paperless billing, set up within your first two bills. AT&T’s page doesn’t say which payment methods qualify.
One reviewer reports it must be a bank account or debit card, with credit cards earning a smaller discount [7], but be sure to confirm that for yourself at checkout. Skipping it turns a $70 plan into $80, which adds $120 over a year. That’s pretty substantial savings when it comes to how to save money on your internet bill!

What Is the AT&T Fiber Price With Fees?
Expect your bill to land above the advertised rate. AT&T’s plan page doesn’t itemize taxes, and its State Cost Recovery Charge varies by location. As an example only, $5 in local taxes and fees would turn a $70 plan into $75. Here’s what else can potentially show up as well:
Here’s the approximate AT&T Fiber vs. cable cost over two years on comparable 1 Gig plans, before taxes and fees (prices as of early 2026):
| Plan | Monthly price | 24-month total |
| AT&T Internet 1000 | $70 | $1,680 |
| Spectrum Internet Gig | $70 for 12 months, then $105 | $2,100 |
| Xfinity 1 Gig WiFi + Streaming | $60 (five-year guarantee) | $1,440 |
AT&T beats Spectrum by $420 over two years. Xfinity’s guaranteed rate is $240 cheaper on paper, though it does require autopay from a bank account, bundles streaming, and doesn’t lock in equipment or fees. The cheapest option depends on your address, so compare internet providers side-by-side before deciding.

Is AT&T Fiber Worth It?
On cost alone, yes for most fiber-covered homes. You’re paying a flat rate with no cliff, and the AT&T Guarantee adds a small safety net. A fiber outage of 20 minutes or more should earn a credit for a full day of service, capped at your monthly rate [8], which AT&T announced in January 2025 [9]. On a $70 plan, that’s roughly $2 per day, so it’s a perk, not really a savings strategy. It covers residential fiber customers using an AT&T gateway and excludes weather and home power outages.

No, not on currently offered plans. Some older plans with a service term commitment may charge up to $180, prorated by months completed.
Internet 300 is the cheapest at $50 a month with autopay, or $60 without, plus taxes and fees.
Availability and Internet prices differ by address. Enter your zip code to compare internet providers and plans, then check each provider’s broadband label for the price, fees, and speed before you sign up.
Enroll in Autopay and Paperless billing for the $10 discount, return old equipment, pay on time to avoid late fees, and skip optional add-ons like All-Fi Pro unless you need them.
