Welcome back to another  Compare Internet review.   Today, we’re taking a closer look at  GoNetSpeed, a regional fiber provider   that’s been rapidly expanding across the  Northeast and earning some of the most   enthusiastic customer reviews in the industry. Formed in 2021 from a merger of six   regional companies and backed by Oak Hill  Capital, GoNetSpeed’s mission is to bring   ultra-fast fiber to communities that the  big ISPs have historically overlooked.   Let’s break it down by availability,  pricing, performance, equipment,   and customer experience. Availability | 3/5 Stars   GoNetSpeed is a regional provider,  currently expanding to cover 11 states,   primarily in the Northeast. It’s available to  less than 1% of the U.S. population, which is   intentional. Rather than competing everywhere,  GoNetSpeed targets underserved communities   that larger providers have passed over. The expansion is moving quickly. In early 2026,   GoNetSpeed broke ground in Newport, Rhode Island,  backed by a $3.9 million company investment plus   a $9 million state grant. New Jersey is its  11th state, with construction underway in   six communities, including Carteret, Old  Bridge, and South River, with the first   NJ customers expected in fall 2026. The coverage is limited, but within their   footprint, 97% of customers have access to true  fiber, not hybrid cable with a fiber backbone.   Pricing | 4/5 Stars GoNetSpeed’s pricing is competitive and   transparent, though it varies by location. You’ll  need to enter your address on compareinternet.com   to see exact rates in your area. Promotional rates are valid for 12 months   and require enrollment in AutoPay and Paperless  Billing to get the advertised price. If you opt   out of either, add $5 per month each. After the  first year, prices do increase, and the amount   varies by state, so it’s worth checking what  your rate looks like after the promo period.   The good news is there are no data caps, no  annual contracts, and no early termination   fees. Installation is $100, but that fee is  frequently waived with promotional offers.   GoNetSpeed also offers streaming TV bundles  through partnerships for additional savings.   Reliability & Performance | 4.5/5 Stars Performance is where GoNetSpeed shines.   This is 100% fiber-to-the-home. According to  FCC data, GoNetSpeed fiber customers average   over 1,100 Mbps for downloads and 1,100  Mbps for uploads. Those numbers match   because it’s symmetrical internet. Latency is typically 1 to 5 milliseconds,   compared to 15 to 40 milliseconds on cable. For  gaming, video calls, and real-time applications,   that difference is very noticeable. Plans  go all the way up to 6 Gig symmetrical.   Equipment & Installation | 4/5 Stars Equipment is included in your monthly   plan price, and there is no separate rental  fee. Plans up to 2 Gig come with a Wi-Fi 6   or Wi-Fi 6E router. The 3 Gig and 6  Gig plans include a Wi-Fi 7 router,   the latest wireless standard. You can bring your own equipment if   you prefer, though you’ll give up remote  troubleshooting support. For most users,   sticking with GoNetSpeed’s router is the  easier path because it can remotely manage   firmware updates, resets, and diagnostics  without you having to touch anything.   Professional installation is standard, with  a technician running fiber to your home and   fully setting up the equipment. GoNetSpeed also  offers an optional Worry-Free Wi-Fi add-on for   $10 a month, which includes two mesh extenders  professionally placed to eliminate dead spots,   which is great for larger homes. Customer Experience | 4/5 Stars   This is GoNetSpeed’s strongest category. GoNetSpeed isn’t large enough to appear in   J.D. Power or ACSI surveys yet, but the  online reviews tell a compelling story.   Reddit users are enthusiastic in ways you  almost never see for internet providers.   When customers proactively write positive  reviews about their ISP (unprompted),   that says something real about the service. Support is available via phone, chat,   email, and the customer portal. The company  emphasizes local expertise over outsourced call   centers, and installation teams consistently earn  high marks for professionalism and thoroughness.   GoNetSpeed was also named to the 2025 Broadband  Communities Top 100 list for its fiber deployment   in underserved markets. Final Verdict | 4/5 Stars   So, is GoNetSpeed worth it? If it’s available in your community,   yes, it’s an excellent choice. True  fiber-to-the-home, symmetrical speeds,   no data caps, no annual contracts, and customer  service that actually earns positive reviews   is a combination that’s hard to find. The main  limitation is simply geographic.
