Cox is to expensive

Just read the other reviews. This is crap. IF there was ANY other real choice I would dump Cox in a second. I am paying for a GIG connections and am getting 30 mgb. I spent an hour arguing with chat to get a phone number so I could talk to a person. Then when I asked for compensation they transferred me to a dead line. Yep this is worth the 110 a month. There is no proactive maintenance on their infrastructure. The online tech said the in home amp needed to be disconnected........I dont have an in home amp. So now here I get to sit for the rest of Saturday and hope a Tech can help and if not today I have to be home tomorrow so they can maybe show up. Find a different service provider.

I've had Cox since 1987. Years ago, it was moderately priced and customer service was excellent. It has progressively got worse and worse to the point that it has taken 3 months and endless hours to fix my current problem. The phone customer service staff don't know what they are doing - and won's ask for help. Cox doesn't check on their end to make sure they've done what they need to. For example, I recently had to upgrade equipment twice (their error) and they managed to disconnect my landline for almost three weeks because they didn't flip a switch. Then, a two-hour (and twice disconnected on their end) argument about obtaining credit for the time I didn't have phone service. This particular problem has happened at least three times in the past. The pricing is a shell game, as every time I call I get different explanations - and some differ. Be sure if you talk to them to threaten to leave and behold! you can get the new subscriber deals, and some others they seem to pull out of a hat. Service in my neighborhood (Benson) is unreliable, to the point that we neighbors call each other to see if *we* can identify the issue. Cox's first response is always that it is our personal equipment - and nothing on their end. It is ALWAYS on their end. Techs and customer service seldom completely know what they are doing. Now they are obviously contracting overseas so the people on the phone, while speaking English, have such heavy accents that neither of us can understand each other. Which adds to the confusion. If you are in Omaha and your area has access to fiber - go for it. In older parts of Omaha, like mine, where Cox was the only game in town for decades, their equipment and the cable is old and not upgraded unless it fails completely. It is above ground and subject to weather (rain, snow, cold, wind, fallen trees). We pay the same as West Omaha for questionable service. Do not rely on Cox for landline service. I finally had to get a cell phone so I can call Cox at least once a month when service is interrupted or fails. Their prices keep going up as they add services with fancy names but no real advantage to the customer, especially as they can't provide steady service. Most of us are okay with the speeds we have if only we could count on it! To add to the insult, they have now trained staff in some happy clappy reassuring customer service language to praise the customer for things like "being so smart to figure that out" and "you are being so patient." We are not dogs; we know they are desperately trying to salvage their ratings. It is insulting and patronizing. They give a one-minute thank you at the end of the call - wasting even more time after two hours mostly on hold with them. Really - just fix the service. Fast. Or cut the prices and be honest.

Love Netflix, not the price. we have sports packages but now they seem to be adding more 3rd party to watch the WNBA, Dodgers, just to name a few. I want our internet company to be more transparent.

Cox internet has constant outages, sometimes 3 and 4 times per day. Their customer service is terrible. They are often not helpful at all when attempting to get help online, and rarely helpful over the phone. Vastly overpriced for poor level of service.

To much money for barley no service

Absolutely shitty service. One minute working fine, then in the middle of the work day will randomly go out for 30 minutes. No reason, no explanation. When calling to ask about it, the reps merely try to upsell you to their most expensive rates and never see any 'issues'

All services too high. Dish has comparable tv for a better price but there are no competitors in this area with the internet speed offered by Cox.

Price is reasonable

Pretty expensive, and it sometimes goes out at night for a few minutes but the speed is very very fast.

I've been with COX for well over 10 years now. If you know and remember to call every year to renegotiate contracts, you can maintain a pretty low price on internet. The speed is excellent 99% of the time, the 1% of the time where it lags due to network outage is a small nuisance for how cheap the internet is for the speed.

The service itself is pretty reliable, but the price is way too high. The price for a product like this should decrease over time, but Cox keeps increasing it because there's so little competition.

I love them and they are the best in the world at giving speed where ever I need it. They have never failed to reach my expectations and then some.

IT helps me out a lot. It makes me feel nice and that I know that I'm save with my connection and that it is important to have a good connection so you can do your work.

They are very customer oriented. They are loyal to their customers. Their service is very reliable and they do not have outages very often.

This is a very professional company. I would definitely recommend it. I had never had any issues with them. Give them a try and you would see what I mean

It's not that bad. I like it and have recommended it to friends and family. A lot of them enjoy it too. They are kind of pricey but not too much so.

Overall we have been pretty happy with the service although our xbox one will randomly lose connection occasionally. Other than that it is fast

horribly overpriced but there is no choice for this area for anything over 15m . works pretty good most of the time . the cable on the other hand is plagued by low quality miniboxes .

Good services. Speeds are very fast for the package that I had purchased. I like the new equipment too. I would recommend this provider to friends and family. I had issues with returning some merchandise though which I was over charged for some services.

not happy with COX never acknowledging long time customers. I recently moved and a sales person sent a letter for us to leave his card at our old house so the new owners get a good discount. I called and asked why he did not offer the same to me as an 18 year customer

They are the only "player"in town , so they have you at their mercy !! The bundles they offer mean you have to pay more to see any of the channels , such a TNT , AMC , etc

Easy to work with for upgrades. Way expensive. Internet should be a utility not a luxury. Sometimes the speed seems way to slow for what I pay for.

Television service was horrible, but the internet has always been fantastic. The tv would cut in and out at the best parts of the shows, or the scenes that appeared to be really detailed.

T-Mobile is great and never had any problems with him I've been with him since before they were T-Mobile and that's the only internet I have is from my phone

they have good service but pricing is a little high but have not found anyone else as dependable or as easy to work with

Cox is a Good provider. The service and support is average. The worst experience I have had is no internet connection, but they’re support app helped solve the issue.

The cox internet is fast now. And the cable is the best. I had them about 7 years now. They gave free stuff sometimes on there
