Optimum is the worse I've ever dealt with, they increase your pricing and refuse to cancel service until you pay the amount that you never agreed on to begin with. Getting their equipment back to them and counting on them to stop billing will not happen. Stay away from this Company!

Last dec.switched to fiber and was told there was no price increase.
Went from under 200 to 282.
Also they keep charging me for three tvs and I only have 2.

This is the worst internet company that I have rented from. The price points are at best on par with their competitors, and at worst, grossly overcharged. But the most significant concern with Optimum is their piss-poor customer service. If you ever have an issue with coverage or billing, prepare to navigate a Kafkaesque labyrinth of sleepy phone representatives, with the personalities of a baked potato from Applebees and the reasoning capabilities of a beta Chatbot.  Optimum served its purpose... for one year. When I moved, I temporarily disconnected my Wifi service, intending to renew it in the new location. The company rep assured me that I could keep the same equipment and plan in the next apartment... only to get there and have Optimum tell me that I needed to upgrade to fiber. Well, not wanting to deal with the 100 dollar install fee and 20 dollar monthly price hike, I decided to switch to Verizon (a great decision by the way—I cut my bill in half, and could install the wifi gateway myself). A new Odyssey of phone calls with Optimum's "retention" team began. Let me save you the trouble: they will offer you competitive counteroffers, gift cards, credits, and other perks, but read the fine print, because the good stuff expires long before the price lock that they promise. At one point, I nearly thought they wouldn't actually let me leave. In short, it's a load of dug, and this is the type of company that needs to swindle and lie in order to stay afloat. Please, save yourself the money and gray hairs. Look elsewhere.

Signed up for 'Fiber Internet' around mid December 2024. Installation in my house was supposed to be completed by end December 2024. Work on installation is at a standstill. Optimum is quick to try and get business but DOES NOT complete the job! It's a shame that they're the only cable network in our area.

Terrible customer service and overpriced internet service with no credit when service out.  I have cellular and wifi via them and was discounted on auto pay. Appears they send no notice and take from 30.20 to now 45.00 out my acct.  They said promotion period ended. I'm on disability and they refuse give me discount when I've been with 18 mos or so.

I have never been so disappointed in the lack of ethics and service to customers as I am with Optimum. I was without service for 5 months and continued to pay my bill on time every month as they tried to fix the issue. The issue was never resolved. I requested for my money to be returned to me since I did not receive the services that I paid for during that timeframe. Not only did I never receive a refund, but they will not even return a call once it has been escalated. This company should be shut down. They DO NOT care about their customers and use the monopoly of the industry to continue to profit off of their lack of services. DO NOT USE!!!

I have not had good service in over a year. Every technician that comes out replaces one thing, but does not fix the problem. When I call to ask for somebody else to come fix the problem. They put me a week out and call all week-long. Want me to cancel the appointment?

Worst experience. Carlos and Lauren from customer service were so rude. I managed a customer service team and I have never experienced such pushy and rudeness while canceling an account. I was told it was  my fault that I needed to upgrade and give it another chance. I already had another provider they continued to bash the provider and tell me they are not reliable. I had to yell at Laurne after Carlos told me he couldn't cancel and had to transfer. On hold and then Lauren started the same thing. I said JUST CANCEL. Finally she stopped. Unreliable internet and terrible customer service!

Hotspots are pretty slow around my area. Sometimes, it’s fast, but sometimes it’s not. It even disconnects randomly and my devices can’t detect the location of the network.

Pretty good service. In the past I’ve had a lot of issues with just suddenly losing my WIFI connection—it’s bizarre. They also just decide (seemingly at random) to remove your “special deal” from your bill and suddenly you’re being charged a LOT more than you were, without any notice given.
